Stop Nail biting

Nail biting

A nail biting habit is one that is often developed during childhood. While often dismissed as a nuisance, it may simply be a bad habit, but it can also be a symptom of an emotional disturbance. In any case, hypnotherapy can help.

Nail biting is one of the more common means people use to relieve stress and tension. Most people bite their nails during times of stress or simply out of habit, but the mechanism at play is essentially the same as with overeaters and smokers – to satisfy an oral desire.

Put simply, there is an urge to put something in your mouth, be it a fingernail, a cigarette, a piece of chocolate cake or other, and usually during times of stress.

Hypnosis can be an effective treatment to overcome a tendency to nail biting when suffering from stress.
